Artist Nguyen Nghia Phuong
Dang Viet Linh’s artworks are the fusion and improvisation of bright flat blocks of colors to form a visual language with highly decorating patterns. Motifs in Linh’s paintings bear signals to recognizable traditional culture and modern art of not only Vietnam but also many other countries in the world.
Generally, with syntheticism, Dang Viet Linh not only brings about an aesthetic, cultural space that has a sense of humanity, but also expresses the sense and consciousness of a person in an integrated age. The art of Linh reflects naturally both the thinking and the emotions of nowadays young people, but also has a consistency in building images, icons and languages. This fact shows that the art arises and pours out of the artist’s heart, out of real dreams, dreams that are pure like children’s, dreams about a happy human society

The concept “myth” in him is full of the clarity of the poetic specialty which are full of colors and illusion as well. Going around in this illustration, we imagine to fly into a distant land hidden deep inside the human’s subconscious. Each work of Dang Viet Linh is a dreamand even desire about romantic love, in the harmony with the nature and things surround them. It is also the place for the inner part of each individual with joy and excitement of youth.
Viewers can wonder whether this excitement is the imagination of the artist himself or the memories of childhood where he has gone through, seen or drifted in the dreams which he doesn’t wantto grow up with these pieces of memory or to find an explanation deep inside his own mind.

Taking a look at Dang Viet Linh’s paintings evoke a very special state of spiritual uplift. It seems that the colored partterns and the ornamentation are in the process of continual reproduction, and they overflowout of the limits to harmonizewith the human and nature. In some other experiments, with more sophiticated topics, in general, his pictures still excite the sublimation.
However, the obsession can be also found. This contradiction evokes thoughts, questionsand require the viewer’s attitude towards the deep-inside idea of these works.
